Vienna Symphonic Library and ILIO Host In-Person Composer Event in Southern California with Ronit Kirchman

ILIO, leading distributor of premier virtual instruments and audio processing software, and Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL), creators of some of the most expressive and deeply sampled orchestral libraries in the world, announce “Composing with Vienna Symphonic Library,” a free in-person event on Saturday, July 12 at 1:00 PM PT at ILIO HQ in Westlake Village, CA near Los Angeles.

The session features Ronit Kirchman (The Sinner, Evil Eye) in a keynote conversation on how Vienna Symphonic Library fits into her creative scoring workflow—and how modern tools, including AI, are reshaping the composing process.

Also joining is special guest composer Gerrit Wunder, who will share how he incorporates modern tools into his professional scoring workflow. The ILIO team will host a hands-on demo lab where attendees can explore Vienna’s most advanced tools.

Iconic audio software company Serato, Community-first technology and entertainment-focused nonprofit TEC Leimert and West Coast streetwear label UNDEFEATED announces the return of the Audio Affect Series, an immersive workshop program designed to empower the next generation of Black and Brown talent in South Central Los Angeles.

First launched in 2023, the 2025 iteration will take place from July 25-27 at music school 1500 Sound Academy’s state-of-the-art facility Volume Studios located in Inglewood, CA. Participants will receive mentorship from 5x GRAMMY-winning producer DJ Khalil (Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Kanye West), pioneering funk artist DāM-FunK, 2x GRAMMY-winning producer and artist Iman Omari (Mac Miller, Doja Cat, Kendrick Lamar), GRAMMY-nominated musician Amber Navran of the renowned Neo-Soul trio Moonchild, multi-faceted musician Lyric Jones, viral content creator and music producer Sarah2ill, genre-blending producer Oh Gosh Leotus (Doechii, Tink, Blxst), with additional mentors and guest speakers to be announced.

Three-day Immersive Experience Curated By Grammy-winning Mixer Manny Marroquin Aims To Uplift Emerging Talent From Across The US

Larrabee Studios, in collaboration with Sony Corporation’s audio division (“Sony audio”), announces the launch of the inaugural Larrabee Studios Creator Seminar, a three-day immersive program led by 18-time GRAMMY-winning mix engineer Manny Marroquin, designed to support and elevate the next generation of music creators. Taking place August 11-15 at the legendary North Hollywood studio, the all-expenses-paid seminar will welcome up to 15 emerging music creators from across the U.S. for a rare opportunity to learn, collaborate and grow in a world-class creative environment. Powered by Sony audio, the program reflects a shared mission between Marroquin and Sony to support and empower the next generation of creators by prioritizing access, mentorship and long-term impact.

The seminar will be personally curated by Marroquin, a longtime Larrabee fixture and one of the most acclaimed mix engineers in the world, with credits spanning Lizzo, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey and many more. Over the course of the seminar, attendees will engage in a hands-on curriculum of workshops, real studio sessions and one-on-one mentoring designed to ignite artistic potential and sharpen technical skills. Participants will not only gain exposure to career-shaping insights and have access to professional-grade tools, but will also build relationships within a tight-knit, creatively charged setting.

In addition to Marroquin’s guidance, several respected industry professionals will join throughout the program to lead sessions and provide mentorship. Collaborators include GRAMMY-winning songwriter and producer Jason Evigan, who has worked with artists including Dua Lipa, Troye Sivan, Benson Boone and many more; A&R executive and manager Chris Anokute, who has worked with four “Best New Artist” GRAMMY Nominees including Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea, Bebe Rexha and Muni Long; longtime A&R executive Evan Lipschutz, founder of management, publishing and record company Double Down 11; GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter John Hill, recognized for his work with Rihanna, Florence + the Machine, and Portugal. More than 300 million pairs of headphones will be sold this year and people are using headphones everywhere. The popularity of ‘smart’ and ‘wearable’ devices has driven developments in low power processors and sensors that are enabling the augmentation of headphones with features more typically associated with hearing aids. A future convergence is possible. This conference will assemble leading researchers and practitioners across all forms of headworn hearing technology to chart the future course of headphones.

2025 AES International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Audio

The Audio Engineering Society invites audio researchers and practitioners, from academia and industry to participate in the first AES conference dedicated to artificial intelligence and machine learning, as it applies to audio. This 3 day event aims to bring the community together, educate, demonstrate and advance the state of the art. It will feature keynote speakers, workshops, tutorials, challenges and cutting-edge peer-reviewed research.

The scope is wide- expecting attendance from all types of institutions including academia, industry, or pure research, with diverse disciplinary perspectives – but tied together by a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning for audio.

In addition to Technical Papers, we will seek proposals for panel discussions, tutorials, and master classes.

The conference aims to foster the sharing and advancement of knowledge among researchers, professionals, and engineers working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio. Thus, we will provide an opportunity to host challenges organized by teams from industry or academia as a precursor to the conference. The goal is to foster technology improvements through the continuity of challenges, but also to bring novel research directions into the field.
