Description

The SU-017 large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone delivers sound that is as rich, warm, solid, and beautiful as its hand-crafted, polished design suggests. Swappable capsules make this high performance microphone at home in a wide range of critical recording applications, from vocals to orchestral instruments.

Features a cardioid capsule (100% made in house) with gold-sputtered, hand-tuned 1 inch diaphragm. Optional omni and figure 8 capsules are in development and will be available in 2016.

...would have gone with the Redd. Both of my mics sound awesome. I need to decided between the Soyuz 017 (recent price increase), Redd, Flea 47 or a horch. I’m planning on getting a c800g soon. Then I need to stop.

I don't think it would be significantly better or worse for an untreated room than the mics you have. I have the 017 and had a H47 at one point. To me the H47 was bigger sounding, but I didn't always want that. I'm sure the 017 would sound great on a lot of female...
