Signal Splitters ‘split’ audio signals into two or more versions of the same signal. This allows a signal to be ‘sent’ to more than one place. For example, on stage a splitter or “DI Box” splits the signal from a bass guitar, with one split going to the bass guitar amp and the other split to the venue’s mixing board. In the studio a snare drum or vocal signal could be split to be processed by different types of compressor or equalizer with the results combined or ‘summed’ to have a better sound.
