SN05-G Brickwall Limiter
I won’t describe to you how it sounds, but I can say that it can be loud. I envision its place at the end of signal chain, but I can also imagine it to handle individual tracks.
Its features are sparse: (or rather limited? ? )
gain from 0dB to +24dB
ceiling from 0dBFS to -24dBFS
release time from 0.1ms to 20ms
fixed attack time
GR meter
Maybe I could also add that this plug-in is, as usual, in VST format (however still Windows only), comes in 32-bit and 64-bit flavors, and there’s only a version with GUI of each. And that’s it.
...from potential disappointment , even though I won't tell you how SN05-G sounds, I will tell you what it does not do:
it does not do any kind of oversampling
that also means no ISP detection/treatment
also there's no dithering (sample rate conversions, etc.)
Anyway, enjoy
SN05-G Limiter is now version 2.00. I bumped it up straight to v2, as it's a quite different animal than v1. Please note that this new version won't match the settings of v1 in saved projects. However if you insist on v1 behavior, simply flip the switch to 'Clip' and adjust R2 to taste
...thread ... and today, I uninstalled the last mastering limiter I still had on my hard drive. Well, except for SN05-G obviously, which is now version 2.10. And it turned out beyond my expectations. New features: updated GUI (please see OP) soft clipper side-chain HPF dual GR meter “cleaned up” envelope times THD improved even further (from v2.00) - see...
