H2 Audio Helios 0011 Mic Preamp and EQ

The H2 Audio Helios 0011 is an exact recreation of the legendary Helios console channel module including the 2128 preamp circuit and 3-band EQ originally designed by Dick Swettenham.

The H2 Audio Helios 0011 is the result of painstaking research and countless hours spent sourcing parts and recreating the original design to deliver the most authentic helios console channel.

The 4U module includes the original 2128 preamp circuit capable of delivering 70dB of gain. Key to the sound of this legendary preamp was the Lustaphone input transformer. H2 Audio has gone the extra mile to find the perfect replica. The 2128 preamp also includes a 20dB pad as well as balanced line in.

The EQ section uses an inductor-based design and includes selectable LF and MF bands as well as a fixed 10kHz HF band. The LF band offers a choice of boost at selected frequencies (60,100, 200, 300 Hz) or up to 15dB cut at a fixed 50Hz. The Mid band offers a selection of frequencies from 700Hz, 1kHz, 1.4kHz, 2kHz, 2.8kHz, 3.5kHz, 4.5kHz, 6kHz and a choice of peak (boost) or Trough (cut).

The module also includes a Phase control and high-pass filter with a choice of 40 and 80Hz. In addition H2 Audio has included an output amplifier and output transformer allowing for the drive a 600 Ohm load up to 25dB before clipping.

The 0011 module requires a dedicated PSU and chassis and cannot be used with other “Helios” chassis.
