My point is that you tried and liked that mic.. so despite the quality price and sound of the other ones you mentioned, they are a shot in the dark. I’m not saying the AT is inherently better, I’m saying you might end up with something different than expected (better ir worse depends on the vocals..). That...
...Needless to say they are a no go for now. As a side note, I acquired a Brauner Phantom AE which has been absolutely stellar to my ears and may just convince me to eschew ribbons and tube mic all together.
